It’s a cliché to say it, but top celebs really do have it all: healthy-looking complexions, lustrous hair,
toned stomachs… the list goes on. They do of course also have a long list of trained professionals to exercise them, polish them, cook for them and dress them. Their dedicated beauty regimes don’t neglect any body part including their teeth.
There’s tough competition for the accolade of best celebrity smile. So, in no particular order (it’d be difficult to choose between them, anyway), here are the female stars who have arguably got their teeth – whiteness, straightness and all – “just right” for the cameras.
Kim Kardashian
How does she do it? The best-known member of the Kardashian clan has not only a brilliant backside but also a dazzling smile, with her luscious lips framing well-proportioned teeth. Some suspect that the media personality and socialite has used Invisalign braces to straighten her smile. When worn on the teeth and replaced about every two weeks, Invisalign aligners slowly adjust the teeth – and, especially appealingly, are “invisible” due to the absence of bands, brackets or wires.
Anne Hathaway
Like Kim, the Oscar-winning actress is blessed with an enviable combination of full lips and bright teeth. Those teeth actually posed a problem during the filming of Les Misérables, as the makeup team needed to render them visually bedraggled for one key scene. In 2013, she insisted, as quoted by Fame Focus: “I would have pulled out my teeth to play Fantine.” Her dedication to the role was admirable, but what a relief that she didn’t have to!
Gwen Stefani
You might remember a period in 1999 when the No Doubt singer was seen in public with what looked like train-track braces on her teeth. She didn’t try to hide those braces, either, calling them a fashion statement. However, their practicality probably had something to do with it, too.
Whatever her reasons back then, today, she sports, as fans often see for themselves at her gigs, a
stunning white-teeth-and-red-lips combo reminiscent of a glamorous actress of Old Hollywood.
Kate Beckinsale
If you’re old enough to recall when Kate Beckinsale first rose to fame in costume dramas like 1994’s
Prince of Jutland and 1996’s Jane Austen adaptation Emma, you might also remember that her teeth
were noticeably longer than they are today, without the same sparkling whiteness.
It’s been speculated that the British beauty has benefitted from porcelain veneers. This cosmetic dental treatment can help to balance out the smile, leaving it looking Hollywood-worthy – possibly even for 15 to 20 years, when the veneers might finally need replacing.
Nicole Kidman
Another celeb who could have opted for porcelain veneers is Nicole Kidman, judging from before-
and-after pictures. These show the actress with discernibly smaller teeth and a lot of visible gum during her younger days, suggesting that she might have had some gum tissue removed, too.
It’s encouraging for us humble non-celebs that many effective cosmetic dental treatments are widely
available; you can easily, for example, approach a dentist for porcelain veneers.
