Three Things to do for Your Health in 2021

A new year has dawned, and with it comes a chance to change your routine to feel happier, healthier, and better. January gives you a chance to look back at the year that’s passed and forward at the year that’s to come and think about what changes you need to make. Today we’re looking at three small things you can do to boost your health and wellbeing – five habits that could make 2021 your best year yet!

Stay Hydrated

Hydration affects such a lot about your body and how you feel from moment to moment that you just can’t afford not to keep hydrated! Do some research, find a safe way to rehydrate that works for you – and includes a top up of the electrolytes you lose when you’re dehydrated. You’ll notice the results right away, from fewer muscle pains and headaches, less fatigue, clearer, fuller skin and an enhanced sense of alertness!

Exercise

The benefits of exercise are about more than getting strong and showing off a six-pack. They’re even about more than losing weight – weight alone isn’t a full indicator of how fit and healthy you are!

Exercise can help to improve your heart health and reduce your blood pressure, reducing the risk of heart disease. The endorphins released can help improve your mental health. Regular exercise can affect your metabolism, helping you feel more physically and mentally alert. The benefits show themselves in the long, short and medium terms, and make it will worth starting without delay!

You don’t have to begin with a marathon! Any activity that raises your heart is beneficial – so if you’re self-conscious about your level of fitness and anxious about how to begin, a brisk walk every day is a great starting point.

Get Outside

While many forms of exercise get you outside, the benefits are more than physical. Simply being in the fresh air, enjoying the sight of trees, plants and water, can have a positive mental effect.

If you’re already suffering from poor mental health then simply leaving the house could feel overwhelming, but it’s well worth making the effort. Conversely, if you’re feeling in good mental health but your job keeps you stuck at your desk all day with no chance to get outside you might find you’re feeling less upbeat before too long. Even doing something as simply as taking a walk through the streets around your home gives you a change of scenery, fresh air, and the chance to watch leaves unfold and buds turn to flowers as the winter becomes spring – and you’ll feel better, more alert and more resilient as a result!
