I hate to live up to a sexist stereotype but I, along with most of my girlfriends, have a life long love affair with shoes. I can blame my Gran on my fathers’ side. Whenever I visited her the first thing I used to do (after telling her I wasn’t a queen I was a cincess) was to rush up to her wardrobe to try on all her fantastic pretty heels. My personal favourites were a pair of silver platforms.
Sex and the City made Manolo Blahnik’s impossibly high and tiny heels iconic. More recently every girl wanted a pair of Christian Louboutins red-soled heels. Since 2012 Sophie Webster, a young London-based designer, has been quietly building up a label to rival these big guns. Her shoes are unique, beautiful and they are quite rightly becoming a go to for fashion conscious celebs and stylists. She has won multiple awards for her work and in addition to her e-commerce website she has a shop in London on Mayfair’s Mount Street. I particularly love the fact that Sophie’s collections include a range of heel heights as well as flat shoes and casual designs. So if you want to treat yourself to a really special pair of shoes you should check out Sophie’s designs.
